A man with an air rifle caused a police operation in Potsdam.

A witness saw the 29-year-old with the rifle on Thursday morning and called the officers, as the Brandenburg West Police Department announced. When the officers arrived, the man had put the gun in his backpack, it was said.

Because he did not put the bag down despite being asked to do so, the police reportedly overpowered and restrained the man. The officers then found the air rifle in the backpack. They filed a complaint against the 29-year-old for violating the weapons law.

During the operation, the man complained of health problems and was taken to a hospital, according to police.
