The man who pretended to be others to get more than a thousand unpublished books has escaped prison. A year in prison had been demanded against the 30-year-old Italian, but a judge in New York ruled, according to The New York Times, that he had been in pretrial detention long enough. He is, however, deported to Italy or the United Kingdom.
