The man suspected of having deliberately run into pedestrians in the German city of Trier at the end of 2020 was sentenced on Tuesday to life imprisonment for multiple murder. The attack left five people dead and eighteen injured. Trier’s court of first instance has also ordered that the man be placed in a closed psychiatric clinic.
