Man who killed woman with poison beans, for Assize
Pieter P. mixed ground poisonous beans from an exotic ornamental plant for months with his wife Dana Van Laeken’s food. The victim died in October 2018. The man was arrested at the end of February 2019 on suspicion of poisoning his wife. He denied the facts for months, but eventually confessed. His motive is not yet known. Financial motives, adultery and difficulties within the family with three children are some lines of thought.
