International police organization Interpol had been looking for 34-year-old Rossi for some time, because he is wanted in the US state of Utah in a rape case.
Rossi announced in December 2019 that he would have only weeks to live because he was suffering from a rare form of cancer. In 2020, several news sites reported that Rossi, active in local politics in America, had passed away. That turns out not to be the case: Rossi faked his death and left for Scotland.
Corona
In December, he was admitted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Rossi, who used the name Arthur Knight in Glasgow, was recognized by nurses in intensive care where he was because he had corona.
The Scottish police arrested the man on December 13, but the news was only announced on Saturday, January 15. A Utah state spokesperson said Rossi would not have been found if he had not needed medical attention.
