A 75-year-old died in a fire in a gazebo in Finsterwalde (Elbe-Elster).
According to the police’s initial findings, the man had heated the arbor on Saturday and then wanted to leave the property.
Since he noticed a lot of smoke, he went back into the arbor and tried to extinguish the fire, the police said on Sunday. When leaving the bungalow, he lost consciousness.
Rescue workers tried to revive him – without success. Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire and death.
