Man tries to hit someone but smashes shop front: 10 months in prison

A motorist who deliberately tried to hit a man in Eindhoven in March this year has been jailed for ten months. The victim from Vught was able to jump away just in time. The car left a trail of destruction during the chase and eventually crashed into the shop front.

A 47-year-old Eindhoven resident got into an argument with another man from Vught after a night out. A fight followed, after which the resident of Vughte left. The man from Eindhoven got into his girlfriend’s car to follow the other man.

Multiple collisions
During that ride, he bumped into several scooters. He eventually ran into the man from Vught. He then rammed into a storefront with his car.

According to the judge, the man could have hit more people on his journey. The center was busy with nightlife crowds walking around and cycling. The man also drove into traffic.

Imprisonment and mandatory therapy
The Eindhoven resident has to go to jail for 10 months. In addition, he must regularly report to the probation service and he is required to undergo therapy. He is also not allowed to drive a car for at least one year and not drink alcohol for two years. If he does not keep to the agreements, he will have to spend six months in prison.
