A fatal accident occurred this morning on the A12 near the Carré in Willebroek. “We received the report at 8.08 am,” reports Federal Police spokeswoman Jana Verdegem. “A person was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross the A12. The vehicle attempted to avoid the pedestrian, but was unsuccessful. The victim died on the spot. There were two people in the car who were taken to hospital in a state of shock, but they showed no physical injuries.” The victim probably came from Carré, the spokesperson said, but that could not yet be confirmed.
