Man trapped after serious accident involving two cars in Eindhoven

Two cars collided in an accident on the Oude Bosschebaan in Eindhoven. One car drove into the back of the other car at high speed. Both cars went off the road. The rear car also crashed into a tree before coming to a stop. The driver became trapped and had to be freed by the fire brigade.

Debris from both cars was strewn across the road.

After the fire brigade freed the man from the rear car, he was taken to hospital with serious injuries. There were no injuries in the lead vehicle.

Packaging with balloons
Packages of balloons were found in the back of the car of the man who was injured.

The police have now also interviewed witnesses. They told officers that cylinders of nitrous oxide were removed from the car shortly after the accident. Someone else would have taken it. According to one of the witnesses, a small black Volkswagen Polo pulled up next to the red car wreck and a number of people transferred the cylinders.

The police are investigating whether that story is true.

It is also being investigated whether the driver of the red car used nitrous oxide and he must undergo a blood test to determine whether other drugs are involved.
