Man threatens 13-year-old daughter Hugo de Jonge, community service demanded

A 21-year-old man from Boxtel was demanded 120 hours of community service on Wednesday for threatening former corona minister Hugo de Jonge and his daughter online. The 13-year-old girl received a message via Instagram in 2021 with the text ‘I’m gonna kill your father’.

During the investigation, the police came to the man from Boxtel, who confessed to have sent the message in a drunken stupor while he was with friends. He has since apologized to De Jonge and his daughter.

The police judge of the court in Den Bosch imposed a community service order of 25 hours on the 21-year-old man last year for threatening the minister, but acquitted him of threatening the girl. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) disagreed and appealed.

If the Public Prosecution Service is located, the man will also receive a prison sentence of one month if he commits another offense. The court will rule on November 30.
