During the stabbing on Friday evening at Kruiseind in Gemert, a man suffered a serious stab wound in his chest. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance. A 40-year-old resident became unwell and was checked by ambulance personnel. Several migrant workers live in the house.
A 57-year-old resident has been arrested for his possible involvement in the stabbing. Another resident, a 32-year-old man, was arrested because he behaved very confused and aggressive towards officers. The police will also investigate whether he played a role in the stabbing.
Officers received a report around a quarter to nine that someone was behaving confusedly at Kerkeind. He caused a nuisance on a roundabout. This turned out to be the 32-year-old man later arrested. From his story, the officers were able to conclude that a stabbing had occurred in the house where migrant workers live. Officers found the injured man at the bottom of the stairs. His age is not known.
Nor is it clear what led to the stabbing incident. The suspects aged 32 and 57 will be interrogated about this.
