A striking theft in Valkenswaard on Saturday afternoon. A man took off on Dorpsstraat in a gray Toyota, but soon discovered that there were two minor children in the backseat. A little later he left the car with children in Eindhoven and fled.
It all happened mid-Saturday afternoon. Shortly after the theft, the police shared a report via Burgernet, calling on people to look out for the car and the missing children. With success, because a little later the Toyota with trailer was found again on Sporkenhoutlaan in Eindhoven. The children were still in it and nothing was wrong.
The car thief is still missing, despite a major search operation including a police helicopter. It concerns a man of approximately 50 to 60 years old with short gray hair. He is said to walk around without a shirt and can be recognized by a large tattoo between his shoulder blades.
For privacy reasons, a police spokesperson cannot say how old the children are or whether they themselves come from Valkenswaard.
