The number of knife attacks in the capital continues to rise rapidly!

A dispute escalated again on Saturday evening, in which a young man lost his life. At around 10:15 p.m., emergency services rushed to Suermondtstraße in Weißensee. Several people were involved in an argument there, some of them were seriously injured by stab wounds.

Every second counted for a young man, rescue workers were already trying to take care of the man, but all efforts were unsuccessful. The man succumbed to his injuries while still in the ambulance.

A victim was only discovered several kilometers away, on Hansastraße in Weißensee, with a knife wound in the stomach.

Thanks to a quickly initiated search and a good description of the person, a suspect was arrested in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene. The man, who lives in a refugee camp, was taken to the homicide squad for questioning and his home was searched.

The homicide squad and forensic technicians of the LKA Berlin started work and secured clues during the night. According to a recently published statistic, there are about nine knife attacks per day in Berlin.
