A man was injured this morning due to a stabbing incident near the registration center for asylum seekers and the asylum center on Ter Apelervenen in Ter Apel, the police reported. The victim was taken to hospital.
A 42-year-old man, who resides in one of the two institutions in Ter Apel, has been arrested as a suspect. He is in custody and is being interrogated.
A police spokeswoman cannot say where exactly the stabbing incident took place. The police are investigating further.
