A man was shot in the leg on Sunday evening around a quarter to seven on Bart van Peltplein in Tilburg. This happened in the parking lot of the Jumbo branch that is located there. Police have cordoned off the area and are investigating.
The victim was initially not found on Bart van Peltplein, but hundreds of meters away: at the intersection of Ringbaan Noord and Maasstraat. How the man got there is a mystery. The victim was placed in an ambulance there and then taken to the hospital.
Knife found
The perpetrator or perpetrators quickly left the scene of the shooting in a car. Initially it was thought that it was a dark car, but that is not entirely certain. Every trace is still missing.
Meanwhile, the parking lot of the Jumbo store has been closed off. A knife was found in the parking lot during the investigation.
There were many people shopping in the supermarket on Sunday evening. The police have therefore spoken to many customers who may have seen something. CCTV footage is also being viewed.
