One person was injured in a shooting on a terrace in the center of Tilburg on Saturday night. The police fired a warning shot and a suspect was arrested. A second suspect is still being sought.
Shots were fired at a man who was sitting on a terrace on the Heuvelring around half past one in the night. He was sitting there at the table with several people. It was very busy in the city center at that time, partly due to the Tilburg Zingt event that was held a little further away.

Several suspects ran off after the shooting. A man fled in a car, via the Jan Aartestraat. But he had overlooked the posts in that road for a moment. A warning shot was fired by officers to stop the man from his car. Another suspect managed to flee on foot. He is still wanted. The victim of the shooting has been taken to hospital.
A large part of the Heuvelring was closed to the public and motorists after the shooting. By 1 a.m., police said the matter was under control and that there was no longer a threat to visitors to the center.
