A man was seriously injured around midnight in a stabbing at the Baljuw in Assendelft. The suspect, a man, was immediately arrested.
Two ambulances and a trauma team were called. The victim was rushed to hospital.
According to a reporter who was on the scene, relatives of the victim were present at the incident and were deeply moved. The suspect was immediately handcuffed after the stabbing. The man has been taken to the station for questioning.
The detective is investigating the case. Zaanstreek-Waterland police are calling on witnesses to come forward.
