A violent argument in a parking garage in Tilburg led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man from Roosendaal on Saturday afternoon. Shortly before that, he had punched and kicked his wife in the head.
Several witnesses saw the couple quarreling violently into the parking garage on Emmastraat in Tilburg on Saturday afternoon.

At some point, the woman received a punch from the man, causing her to fall to the ground. The man then kicked the woman in the head. Witnesses rushed to see that the woman was unconscious,” the police wrote today. Surveillance officers happened to be nearby. After witnesses called 112, the first officers were on the scene within a minute.
On instructions from bystanders, they were able to arrest the 30-year-old man from Roosendaal. It is unclear whether the victim will file a complaint against her husband, police said.
‘But even if no report is made, we sometimes go ahead and prosecute someone ‘ex officio’, as it is called. In this case, because witnesses saw him kick his wife unconscious,” the police said.
