Man jumps out of window in fire in dormitory – seriously injured

On Tuesday evening around 9.20 p.m. there was a fire in an apartment in a residential home on Otto-Rosenberg-Strasse in Berlin-Marzahn. At least one man was seriously injured.

According to initial information, the injured person is said to have jumped out of the fire apartment on the third floor of the five-storey apartment building, he was lying on the street when the fire brigade arrived.

The man was treated on site by paramedics and an ambulance and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to a spokesman for the fire brigade, six other residents were slightly injured and could still be treated on site. The police and fire brigade brought 35 other residents from the dormitory to safety.

The cause of the fire is still unclear.
