Man hit in the face with glass while going out, perpetrator has disappeared

A man was hit in the face with a glass at the end of last year in café Nassau in Breda, but there is no trace of the perpetrator. The victim is still suffering from the consequences. The police are now sharing surveillance footage in the hope that the perpetrator will be found.

On the night of 2 to 3 December, around 4:30 a.m., a disagreement arose in the café on Vismarktstraat. There is pushing and pulling. And then suddenly, out of the blue, the victim is hit in the face with a glass. The victim is left bleeding while the perpetrator immediately takes off.

Loss of sight
The consequences of the blow are major for the victim, as it now appears. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, had a deep cut above his eye, which even reached his skull. Glass also came into his right eye, so he still can’t see well.

It is still uncertain if he will ever regain his normal vision. In fact, the blow was so hard that someone else in the café was also injured by the flying glass. Café Nassau has tried to find the perpetrator via social media. After that failed, the police were called.

Signaling
The perpetrator can be clearly seen on surveillance images shown in the Bureau Brabant investigation program. It is about a young man with blond hair. He looks about 21 years old. The man is 1.75 meters tall and wears a black sweater with a hood that night.

Do you think you know the perpetrator or do you perhaps know more about what happened that night, please contact the police. “Every little detail in this case is important,” said a police spokesman.
