A man died on the beach between Bloemendaal and Zandvoort this evening. Emergency services speak of a drowning man. According to the rescue brigade of Bloemendaal, it concerns a 79-year-old man.
According to the Bloemendaal rescue brigade, a 79-year-old man most likely got into trouble while swimming in the sea. “The gentleman went swimming around six o’clock, his wife then missed him an hour later and went to get help.”
Emergency services then flocked to the beach. The man was taken out of the water and resuscitated on the beach for some time, but to no avail. The police spokesman cannot confirm anything about the identity of the man and his death. The spokesperson told NH that an investigation into the cause of death is underway.
