A person on board an inland vessel died in the Volkerak locks in Willemstad on Wednesday night. The man had fallen between two stools around three o’clock. The skipper found his co-worker and pulled him out of the water.
The emergency services rushed out with a lot of equipment. An air ambulance was also deployed. But help was of no avail.
An investigation shows that it is a fatal accident.
Because the family of the foreign employee is not yet aware, the police do not yet want to say who it is.
