Man demands millions from Mariah Carey because he first wrote a song entitled All I want for Christmas is you | show

Singer Mariah Carey (53) is charged with plagiarism with her Christmas hit All I want for Christmas is you† Singer Andy Stone claims he released a song of the same name five years before Mariah, reports TMZ† He wants to see at least 20 million dollars (18.6 million euros).

Stone recorded his song in 1989 under the stage name Vince Vance & The Valiants. The song topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs list several times in the 1990s. Carey released her song in 1994, topped the charts in 26 countries and reportedly earns tons of money every year with her Christmas song.

Stone now claims that Carey won the title All I want for Christmas is you should never have used. Stone has not filed a complaint about the song itself. The two songs sound completely different in sound and melody. It is highly questionable whether the man has any chance of being right, after all, many songs have the same or similar names.
