“Perfect for players like me”
Around a month after confirming the upcoming transfer from Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City can finally report that Erling Haaland has been fully implemented. The 60 million euro purchase is perfect, as the Premier League club announced on Monday. The contract is valid until 2027.
“This is a proud day for me and my family,” said Haaland after signing his new contract and raved about his new club: “You can only admire the style of play. It’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.”

Man City present Haaland – Report on 150m clause
According to the “Bild” newspaper, Haaland has the option of leaving his new employer after two years – in the summer of 2024 and thus three years before the end of the contract. An exit clause of 150 million euros will be included in his contract. The recently deceased star consultant Mino Raiola negotiated that clause for his client. The option with which the Norwegian could leave BVB was around half as expensive.
Haaland broke several records at BVB, most recently that of the Bundesliga professional, who was the fastest to break the 60-goal mark. This had held Timo Konietzka since 1966, who needed 76 games. Haaland did this in 65 games. At Man City he is now following in the footsteps of his father Alf-Inge Haaland, who played 45 games for the “Skyblues” between 2000 and 2003.
