Man City: Incorporation of NAC into City Football Group failed

19 Man City additions since 2010

Dutch second division side NAC Breda will not be part of the Manchester City-led City Football Group. As the club announced, the club’s own foundation “NOAD” decided in favor of the local initiative “NAC=Breda” after extensive discussions with three interested parties, including the city owners around Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak. “NOAD” saved the club from bankruptcy in 2011.

The consortium of local investors then stated: “We are very proud and grateful that the NOAD Foundation has accepted our plan as a suitable alternative in this complex and long sales process. Over the past period we have been working with love and care on a detailed plan to ensure a healthy and stable future for the NAC.”

Man City have been working closely with NAC Breda for years. No other club has brought as many players to the Dutch side as the English champions since 2010: 19 in total, 17 of them on loan. According to the “Guardian”, the City Football Group had offered around 7 million euros for the takeover. On the other hand, there had recently been protests from the fans.
