Man City apologize to Aston Villa for fan attack

After winning the Premier League by beating Aston Villa 3-2, football champions Manchester City have apologized to the opposing team for the behavior of their fans.

When there was a storm after the final whistle, supporters of Cityzens Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen are said to have physically attacked.

“Manchester City would like to sincerely apologize to Robin Olsen,” the official statement said. “The club have launched an immediate investigation and will issue an indefinite stadium ban on the person responsible once identified.”

Aston Villa initially did not comment on the incident. Coached by Liverpool icon Steve Gerrard, the team led 2-0 at Man City before City turned the game around to secure their fourth league title in five years.
