Man breaks cervical vertebra after heavy fall with quad

Three friends from Moorslede went for a ride with the quad bike near Ypres this morning. Around eight o’clock things suddenly went wrong on the Poperingseweg, between Vlamertinge and Ypres. Due to a steering error, the 51-year-old man went off the road and broke his neck vertebra.

Under the influence

Immediately after the accident, the man’s two friends called the emergency services. An ambulance and the MUG quickly arrived and took the man to the Jan Yperman hospital for further care. The man’s two friends were questioned. Initial findings showed that the trio was under the influence.
