An arrest team arrested a 46-year-old aggressive man from Sprundel on Friday. Earlier in the day, he threatened people who wanted to help his girlfriend when she was mistreated by him in a parking lot on Dorpsstraat in Sint Willebrord. He also nearly hit a cop.
The assault in the parking lot took place around 5:15 p.m.
Firearm
The man threatened the people who came to his girlfriend’s aid that he had a firearm with him.
Officers saw the man as he was about to pull into the parking lot and gave him a stop sign. This the man ignored. He drove towards the officers. An officer was able to jump away just in time. The suspect then ran off.
Later in the evening, an arrest team arrested the man. The police did find a firearm on him. The suspect has been detained for further investigation.
