Shortly after the race on the Zandvoort circuit, a man was arrested for lewd acts at the access path to the circuit. The man was approached by bystanders, after which he aggressively brandished a chain lock and threatened to spray pepper spray. The police confirm this to NH Nieuws.
The man was standing in the Keesomstraat, a little before the entrance to the circuit. Police confirmed that the man had pepper spray and was brandishing an object.
The acts are believed to have been aimed at a woman, but the police cannot confirm this. It is unknown what exactly the man did.
The man was arrested and taken to the police station. The police are further investigating the matter.
More women harassed
It Haarlem Dagblad reported earlier today about several women who have been harassed during the Grand Prix. The organization confirms that ‘fewer than five victims’ have come forward, but cannot say anything about the nature of those reports.
