This is reported by the Dutch police. Last night citizens in Kerkrade found items that may be related to the disappearance of 9-year-old Gino. Part of a parking lot and a playground at Vincent van Goghplein in Kerkrade were cordoned off by the police. The area was reopened shortly after 9 p.m. The police investigation has been completed. The items found were taken to the police station for further investigation. The police would not say what kind of stuff it is.
crime
The cordoned off area was guarded by members of the Veterans Research Team, which previously also undertook searches in the area near the Berenbos near Kerkrade. The place where the items were found is also nearby. Both of Gino’s sisters came last night to watch the detective work. Police will no longer be conducting searches tonight. The searches will resume this morning.
Gino, who actually lives in Maastricht, disappeared on Wednesday evening in Kerkrade, where he was staying with his 32-year-old sister, because his mother is ill. According to another sister (21) the boy went to play football on Wednesday evening at a playground in Kerkrade, close to his guest address. He should have been back by 7:30 PM. But he has been missing since then. An amber alert was sent during Thursday. The boy is in life-threatening condition, police said.

The family of the missing Gino (9) takes into account that the boy got into a car at an address in Kerkrade. Sister Kelly says a German search team has informed the family that his trail ends at a home on that street. The German team picked up Gino’s trail with sniffer dogs, at the place where he was last seen. They followed that trail to a house in the Hertogenlaan in Kerkrade. That’s where it stopped. According to Gino’s sister, the track did not lead to the front door. The family therefore thinks that Gino was taken from there in a car.
According to the family, the scooter that was found on Thursday evening at the swimming pool in Landgraaf belonged to Gino. The fear that something bad has been done to him grows. The scooter was found a few miles away, a distance Gino would never be able to cover on his own. Besides, he’s never run away before. DNA testing must show whether it is actually his scooter. The scooter had the same colors as Gino’s: black with red handles.
