The perpetrator addressed the older man on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in the Janssoniusstraat in The Hague, after which he became physical almost immediately. “He demanded the victim’s phone, but the man did not have it with him, after which the perpetrator started beating him,” the police reported in the investigation program.
The 79-year-old man briefly defended himself and tried to get away from his assailant by walking into another street. The robber did not leave him alone and continued to punch and kick the victim. At one point he even gave him a knee to the head.
Defenseless on the ground
