A 56-year-old man from Geldrop is being prosecuted for the death of a 52-year-old fellow townsman. The men got into a fight last June at a café on the Heuvel in Geldrop, after which the 52-year-old man fell to the ground. He died in hospital three days later.
During the argument on the terrace of the cafe, blows fell back and forth. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) will now prosecute the 56-year-old man. “We believe that the arrested man is responsible for the blow that led to the fall that killed the victim,” said a spokesman for the OM.
The man is being charged with assault resulting in death. The suspect was arrested and questioned shortly after the altercation. He was then released pending further investigation.
Relatives
The relatives of the victim were informed this week about the decision of the Public Prosecution Service, as was the suspect, who will therefore have to answer to the judge.
