A man (49) from Bergeijk was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Monday morning. Only fragments of the car are left. The accident happened around ten o’clock on the Provincialeweg N397 between Bergeijk and Eersel. The road has subsequently been closed to traffic from both sides. The car flipped over at high speed.
On the speedometer, the pointer stands still at 150 kilometers per hour. A tree next to the road has been hit by the car and is missing a large part of the bark. Meters away is one of the many wreckage of the car.
It is unclear how long the road will remain closed. “What happened is currently being investigated. A police helicopter will also make recordings of the area to investigate what led to the accident. The road will remain closed until the investigation is completed,” a police spokesperson said.
