Man (39) attacked and injured with two machetes

On Friday evening, a drunk injured a man (39) in Marzahn with two machetes. The background is still completely unclear, the police are investigating.

According to the investigations so far, the 27-year-old attacker is said to have attacked the 39-year-old at around 7:45 p.m. in a square on the Marzahn promenade with two machetes and hit his victim’s head, torso and legs several times with them.

The injured man was able to escape from further attacks. Paramedics took him to a hospital for outpatient treatment.

After the attack, the machete attacker sat on a park bench near the crime scene. Police arrested him there.

The two machetes that he had in his pocket were found on him. The police confiscated them. A breath alcohol test showed a value of around three per mille.

The police then took the machete attacker to a hospital, where he was seen by a psychiatrist. This caused the 27-year-old to be admitted to hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
