A man from Tilburg stepped on the accelerator on Sunday night on the Midden-Brabantweg between Tilburg and Waalwijk. He drove 180 kilometers per hour, while the speed limit is 100 kilometers per hour. The 32-year-old man’s driver’s license has been confiscated, the police report.
Officers saw the man driving between Tilburg and Waalwijk. They followed him and managed to pull him over in Waalwijk. There they confiscated his driver’s license. The public prosecutor will now determine what punishment the man will face.
A little earlier: car in the ditch
Moments earlier, a car left the road on the same Midden-Brabantweg, in this case near Loon op Zand. The woman behind the wheel was injured in the accident, which did not involve any other road users. She ended up with her car on its side in a ditch. The victim, a 27-year-old woman from Wijk en Aalburg, was taken to hospital for examination.
According to police, the woman had been drinking. She was also under the influence of hard drugs. Her driver’s license was also confiscated. The accident was reported at five to four.
