A prison sentence of 34 months has been demanded against a man (28) from Gasselternijveen in a sexual assault case, of which 10 months are suspended. This would have happened to an intern and a minor employee of the company.
The case was started by the trainee (26), who called the vice squad on December 15. The supervisor of the autistic and slightly mentally disabled man filed a report on his behalf. In details, the man told that he was allowed to do an internship in the store of the suspect in October.
His limitations would be taken into account during his internship, but once both men were alone inside, the suspect kept repeating the same protocol. The trainee had to be searched naked when visiting data centers because this supposedly prevented the smuggling of microchips.
The suspect carried out the search himself and groped the man and performed sexual acts. These searches became more and more frequent, and eventually the trainee could no longer cope. He gave up his internship and told his story to his supervisor and later to the police.
The agents searched the company in Gasselternijveen and found, among other things, torn protocols. A 16-year-old employee was then heard as a witness. The boy came up with the same story. He, too, had been strip searched and touched naked during visits, he said. When it came to sexual acts, the teen refused to cooperate. He flatly refused and put his clothes back on.
Through this interrogation, the mother heard what had happened to her son and filed a report. The officers found nude photos of the trainee and the underage employee with the suspect.
There were also sex videos of a former co-owner, which had been forwarded abroad. The former partner said he had been tricked into the sexual acts by deception. The videos he had made under pressure would be forwarded to an American company with which a contract had been signed for the provision of online sex images.
The man risked high fines if he did not provide those images. Afterwards he also discovered that the American company did not exist, but that the suspect was that company. The Gasselternijvener contradicted this. He fired his partner on the spot because he allegedly committed fraud and has now filed a report against him, he told the judge.
The shredded protocols found were scraps, the suspect told police. He knew he shouldn’t have used the data center logos before that. He told the judges that he was not familiar with these documents. He feels himself a victim of slander and libel. He would have wanted to report this, but that will not work as long as he is detained, the man said.
The public prosecutor called the statements of the suspect lying, because they are always distorted.
As a child, the Gasselternijvener was diagnosed with autism. In addition, he says he suffers from a stress disorder and the Gilles de la Tourette disorder. The suspect was recently examined by a psychologist. He only diagnosed autism in the man. The expert could not establish a connection between the disorder and the offenses charged.
The public prosecutor called the suspect a devious and sneaky man who abused his position and the authority he had. “He takes no responsibility and puts the blame outside himself,” the prosecutor said. According to the suspect’s lawyer, the Gasselternijvener has been set up and everyone is conspiring against him. According to her, the statements are aligned. She pleaded for a full acquittal.
But there is no motive for this, the public prosecutor contradicted this. In addition to the prison sentence, he demanded mandatory treatment and a ban on contact with the declarants. According to him, the total compensation of 20,000 euros can be awarded.
