The police arrested a 22-year-old man from the municipality of Oldambt on Tuesday morning, because he is suspected of being involved in an assault in a cafe on the Marktplein in Winschoten on the night of 9 to 10 July.
Officers raided the home of the 22-year-old resident of Oldambt on Tuesday morning, after which he was arrested.
The assault took place around 3:30 a.m. that night. “There were blows thrown back and forth,” said police spokesman Thijs Damstra.
Two injured
Two people sustained minor injuries. “They were checked on the spot and treated by paramedics, but did not have to go to hospital.”
The suspect has been arrested and is being questioned. Damstra cannot say anything about the identity of both victims.
