A young man (19) was injured this morning after a fight in the center of Hilversum. The man suffered a hand injury and was taken to hospital. The police see him not only as a victim, but also as a suspect: he is suspected of threats and attempted aggravated assault.
The fight was around 5.40 am on the Groest. Shortly after the report, the police saw a group of people running away to Herenstraat and Veerstraat.
On the way, they encountered the injured man. The man did not listen to the police and behaved aggressively. “His hand had to be treated in hospital,” said a police spokesman. “He is not only injured, but also a suspect in the case.”
Investigation into circumstances
It is still unclear what exactly happened, but the 19-year-old is said to have threatened someone. After the wound was treated in the hospital, he was therefore arrested for threats and attempted aggravated assault.
The police have already spoken to several people this morning, but what preceded the argument remains unclear. That is why they are still looking for witnesses.
