The Swiss outdoor outfitter Mammut Sports Group AG has restructured its European business and made initial personnel decisions in this context.
As of June 1, the former EMEA region has been divided into the new areas of Central Europe and Western Europe, the company said in a statement. “This new management structure aims to support customers and trading partners in the respective regions more effectively and to tailor the brand, product and sales concept more specifically to local needs,” explained Mammut.
As part of the reorganization, the company has now “established two new management roles in place of the previous Country Manager Germany position”. Accordingly, Espen Ramsvik, the previous Country Manager Nordics, will in future be responsible for Scandinavia, Great Britain, the Benelux countries and France as Head of Western Europe.
The post of Head of Central Europe, who will be responsible for Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy in the future, has not yet been filled. According to the company, Michael Portmann, who was most recently Head of Sales Switzerland, will take over “the operational management of the German sales team” on an interim basis.
In addition, Mammut announced the appointment of Ute Kasparek as Head of Key Accounts Europe. “She has previously acted as Head of Key Account B&M EMEA and, with her extensive experience and expertise, will continue to play a central role in strengthening and accelerating the European business in the future,” explained the company.
