Sometimes you meet someone in your life with whom you can’t stop talking, almost pee your pants laughing, and with whom all your secrets are safe. A friendship for life. In the first episode of the new television program Besties you see Ada de Herder and Sonja Wassenaar from Heemstede. They not only share a friendship, but also a son.
The women sat next to each other at a party and immediately clicked. Ada: “The first time I saw Sonja, I already told that I was doing IVF, while I had never spoken to anyone about it, not even my family”.
A few years later Sonja had son Tim, and after her divorce Ada and her husband Johan offered to babysit Tim for a day. That grew to three days. “Ada and Johan were also just his parents. I am mom to Tim, Ada is mops and Johan was dad, but unfortunately he passed away,” says Sonja.
“We can’t do without each other, if one dies, the other doesn’t want to continue either”
The friendship between Ada and Sonja is so deep that they can no longer live without each other. Ada: “If one dies, the other does not want to continue. We only deal with Tim. We hope that he will have a family by then, because we cannot do without each other”.
