The Chiemgau sports goods manufacturer Maloja has been awarded the German Design Award 2023, which honors innovative design developments on the global market, in the category ‘Excellent Product Design – Sports, Outdoor Activities and Leisure’. The company announced on Monday that children who took part in a creative workshop helped design the winning racing bike jersey.
On the school-free, Protestant day of repentance and prayer, children of Maloja employees were allowed to be taken to work to relieve their parents. The daily program also included a workshop where the little ones could let off steam creatively. The brand quickly used the resulting sketches to print the ‘YukonM.’ racing bike jerseys. for women and ‘GatterlM.’ for men. As part of the 2024 summer collection, they were crucial in winning the award.
“For us, it’s about leaving our children a planet worth living in – and against this background, questioning everything we do,” said Niculin Pitsch, Head of Development at Maloja. “To be able to incorporate our children’s creativity into this philosophy was of course a great joy and a beautiful story.”
The jerseys will be available in stores from spring.
