Malick Thiaw is one of the hopefuls in the FC Schalke 04 squad. However, the achievements of the German U21 international have also aroused the desires of other clubs, including the big AC Milan. Now the young defender has commented on the Rossoneri’s advances.

“Of course I notice that and also look at it a bit. In the end, however, my performance on the field has to be right. I’d rather be promoted than being the most expensive player in the second division,” said the native of Düsseldorf.
In general, Thiaw continues to feel comfortable in Gelsenkirchen. The youngster is also totally convinced of the quality of his teammates. He was particularly impressed by one colleague.
“In training I like to measure myself against the best – and Simon (Terodde; editor’s note) is the best striker in the second division,” enthused the defensive player.
