Malen helps Borussia Dortmund with goal and assist to a simple cup victory | NOW

Donyell Malen made a significant contribution to Borussia Dortmund’s first-round victory in the DFB-Pokal on Friday. Thanks to a goal and an assist from the Dutchman, coach Edin Terzic’s team won 0-3 at 1860 Munich.

Malen opened the score for Borussia Dortmund after eight minutes. The attacker dribbled into the sixteen-meter area and hit the post.

After just over half an hour, Jude Bellingham doubled the lead. The English midfielder tapped in from close range after a quick attack in which Malen was also involved.

A few minutes later, Malen also provided the assist to Karim Adeyemi’s 0-3. The nineteen-time Orange-international passed to the German attacker, who then curled the ball nicely. After that, no more goals were scored in the Grünwalder Stadium.

Malen was substituted halfway through the second half. At 1860 Munich, Jesper Verlaat, the son of former football player Frank Verlaat, played the entire game in the defense.

It is still unknown against Borussia Dortmund in the second round of the DFB-Pokal plays. The draw will be made on September 4.
