The National Police seize 230 kilos of drugs and arrest the main suspects in Torremolinos and Marbella, although they have also found drugs in a house in Churriana. The group had contacts with an important Galician clan
An operation against cocaine trafficking has culminated with nine people detained in MalagaGranada and Madrid and 230 kilos of this drug seized. The National Police investigation has revealed that the group, with special presence in the Costa del Sol, I was very well related to an important Galician clan linked to drug trafficking. Half a dozen searches have been made in Torremolinos, Marbella, Malaga city, Granada and the Madrid municipality of San Agustín de Guadalix, intervening, in addition to the aforementioned cocaine, two kilograms of hashish, 234,000 euros in cash, a firearm and five vehicles, two of them heated to transport the drug. Eight of the nine detainees have entered prison.
The investigation, carried out jointly by agents attached to Udyco-Costal del Sol and their counterparts from Pontevedra, began last August as a result of information indicating that a man with several arrests previous for drug trafficking in Malaga and Galicia would have resumed their illegal activity and that the network had contacts with an acquaintance Galician clan.
Distribution of functions in the band
The group had divided the functions. At the top of the hierarchy was the main investigated42 years old and living in Torremolinos, which would lead the plot dedicated to the acquisition, storage and distribution of cocaine nationwide. Along with the leader of the network, the participation of a woman of South American origin, also a resident of Torremolinos and related to the same Galician clan in the past. She would dedicate herself to the work of drug transport in prepared cars to hide drugs in holes that had a hydraulic opening system. The investigated thus moved to cities such as Malaga, Marbella, Granada and Madriduntil in one of those ports it was intercepted by the agents, who proceeded to arrest more than 30 kilos of cocaine hidden in the cove of a vehicle.
On another step of the framework were the drug keepersincluding a manager of a sheet metal and paint workshop of an industrial warehouse in Marbella. The agents located in the back of the building, blocked by other vehicles that made access difficult, another heated car in which more than 80 kilos of cocaine and a short firearm prepared to be used were involved.
The organization had other nurseries in a home of another of those investigated in Churriana (Málaga capital) where a dump with more than 50 kilograms of cocaine was located. In another building in the Madrid municipality of San Agustín de Guadalix they were intervened another 30 kilos of the same substance and its inhabitant was arrested with the collaboration of the Central Narcotics Brigade.
The group, according to the National Police, also had various distributors of the drug in the provinces of Malaga and Granada, highlighting among them the figure of an investigator who was arrested in the Granada capital and who seized more than 140,000 euros in cash from the illicit business.
