Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt will have to do without defense chief Makoto Hasebe for several weeks. The Japanese will probably miss the SBU in the fight for a place in the Champions League round of 16.
The 38-year-old Japanese suffered an inner ligament injury in the knee in the Champions League game at Tottenham Hotspur, the Hessians said.
Hasebe is missing from coach Oliver Glasner’s team not only in the Bundesliga home game against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky), but probably in all the competitive games until the World Cup break in mid-November.
The veteran had recently presented himself in brilliant form and gave the Eintracht defense the necessary stability.
