Making ‘death road’ safer AC de Graafweg is entering a new phase

The refurbishment of the AC de Graafweg will enter a new phase tomorrow. Another part of the provincial road N241 between the Verlaat and the A7 will be closed and made safer.

It concerns the stretch between the oval at the Langereis to the crossroads at the Spade. After the Zomerpop music festival, the intersection at the Spade will also close. The road will then be closed until the end of December.

To make the road safer for traffic, the stretch of asphalt will be widened by one and a half metres. The cycle path and ditch have already been moved for the road widening.

Traffic diversion

Traffic is diverted via the Langereis, the Mienakker and then through Hoogwoud. The first week this is still about the Koningspade and then via the Herenweg.

In order to keep through traffic and trucks out of the villages as much as possible, they are still expressly requested to detour via the A7, N242 and N239.

Busyness in the villages

Due to the work on the AC de Graafweg and closures, the patience of the residents of Spanbroek and Opmeer is increasing increased traffic put to the test.

The province indicates that it will monitor the traffic on the surrounding roads and take additional measures where necessary. She also indicates that she carries out regular injections and checks.
