A large majority of EU member states have agreed in principle to freeze billions of euros in EU funds for Hungary. However, the amount will be less than proposed by the EU Commission. Several diplomats confirmed this to the German press agency dpa on Monday evening after a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States in Brussels.
