Majorettes of Arts and Entertainment celebrate 50th anniversary with a performance in Zedelgem

The warm weather did not stop the majorettes from putting on a dazzling show in the Klaverveld. The phenomenon of majorette corps has come over from America. Half a century ago Linda Bonte was one of the thirteen girls who started it in Zedelgem. According to her, you don’t forget to be a majorette: “The dance steps and the handling of the famous sticks are practiced with military drills.”

Fiftieth birthday

After the show, the majorettes head into town with three corps. Finally, the ladies give a few performances on the Schoolyard. All this to celebrate their fiftieth birthday, and so they clearly show that majorettes are still in the picture in Zedelgem.
