A resident who reported shots fired to the police triggered a major operation at the Urban Hospital in Kreuzberg.
On Monday evening, heavily armed police officers, some with submachine guns, arrived at the clinic on Wilmsstrasse. First they secured the Böcklerpark area, then parts of the hospital were also searched. The streets in the area were largely cordoned off.
The officers located a person with behavioral problems. It remained unclear whether a weapon was also found.
The operation, which involved numerous police and fire departments, was ended after around an hour. The investigation is being carried out by a specialist commissioner of the Berlin police.
