Major police check in Bruges against unrest in nightlife area

The police and the mayor are tired of the unrest in the entertainment district of Bruges. To demonstrate that violence is not tolerated when going out, the police carried out a check on Kuipersstraat on Friday night. The street was closed off for several hours while many people in and outside the popular catering establishments were checked.

Recently, the police have regularly received calls about clashes and fights in the area. It would not only concern people from Bruges, but also visitors from further afield who come to create a tense atmosphere in the city.
